Process
My process is unique. I use the canvas as my pallet and paint the final works usually in one stroke. I forego traditional painting methods and seek out unique tools to apply paint to canvas. Just about anything at the hardware store is fair game for me to use. I layer paint to create dynamic and fluid layers of color.
I believe strongly that my works should appeal to all senses. Thus, I have developed a unique finish that I call my “Candy Coat”. It allows the painting to be protected from harsh UV rays while allowing the piece to change and reflect light. The art will continue to evolve and adapt to its environment.
I encourage everyone to touch my works and feel the unique sensation that the “Candy Coat” provides.
I feel strongly that once my works leave the studio their story should not end. I do not sign the fronts of my pieces as that might be to limiting as how the piece might be viewed in a home, office, or business. I encourage you to play with the orientation, lighting, and positioning of my works. I want them to live on just not as static snapshots of the time I painted the piece but as something the owner can learn play with and discover something new inside themselves much as I did when first creating the work.
